What dermal filler actually does

Filler is hyaluronic acid — a sugar your body already makes — placed where your face has lost support. From the late 20s the fat pads and bone underneath start to go, and everything above them slides: cheeks flatten, folds deepen, the jawline softens. Filler puts the structure back. Where it goes depends on your face, which is why this is one treatment priced by the syringe rather than a menu of areas.

One to two per area is typical, built over more than one visit. Cheeks usually start at one per side, a jawline at two, a chin often at one. You will get a number at the consult, and we will tell you honestly if you should stop after the first.

That look comes from too much product placed too superficially, repeated over years. Placed deep on bone, a syringe lifts — it does not widen.

Because the fold is usually a symptom. Filling it directly can look heavy; restoring the cheek that used to hold that tissue up softens the fold from above and looks far more natural.

Yes. Both fillers we carry — RHA and Juvéderm — are hyaluronic acid, and HA dissolves with an enzyme in about 20 minutes. We do not use anything permanent or anything that cannot be undone on demand.

That is facial balancing, and it is the same filler at the same price — the difference is the plan, not the product. Your injector photographs you from three angles, maps which areas are actually driving what you see, and writes it down with per-stage pricing you approve before anything starts. Structure first, usually chin, jaw or cheek, then the softer areas once the frame is right. Built over more than one visit, so you pay as you go and stop whenever you are happy.

It is a fair question and the honest answer is that it can be, elsewhere. Ours is written down with per-stage pricing before you commit to anything, you approve each stage, and plenty of people do one stage and never come back for the rest — which is a completely reasonable outcome and we do not chase you about it.

Sometimes that is exactly right and we will say so. But the thing you notice is often a symptom — a deep fold is usually a cheek that stopped holding the tissue above it, and filling the fold directly can look heavy while restoring the cheek softens it from above. That is the judgement you are paying an injector for.
